It is, arguably, stated that sports is the most significant unifier among people for a common goal – winning! That said, the ability for people to remain unified after the game is over is the real challenge.
As social justice movements dominate mainstream media the question is “what role will sports play in dismantling systemic racism in America?”
Throughout history, sports has led the charge for activism and outspoken professional athletes have been the real drivers of social justice awareness (e.g. Tommie Smith and John Carlos, Muhammad Ali, Jim Brown, Colin Kaepernick etc.)
As society moves towards a collective sense of awareness and urgency around racial inequities, it is incumbent upon all of us to lean in – enough is enough! The individual action begins with local voting. Demand local representatives reallocate funds from police to community resources that prioritizes education, healthcare and safety.
As an agency, it is our mission to leverage the power of sports and entertainment to uplift and amplify social justice movements that influence positive narrative change and a solutions-based approach to pressing cultural issues on behalf of the community.
